Our Past

Ch Sunjoie Woodland Crown Jewel, CD, JH, WCX, VC

"Joey"

Joey was my first champion who introduced me to so many wonderful experiences and people in the sport of dogs.

Joey loved his birds and it was Joey who introduced me to Hunt tests and WC/WCX tests.  He didn't necessarily score high on style points but he had a nose.  He came out of retirement with very little practice, to earn his WCX at 7 1/2 yrs.

Most of all, Joey had the most wonderful Golden personality and temperament which has been passed to his kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids!.

Joey was bred/co-owned by Joyce Davis.  He was sired by Ch. Sunjoie Shawn of Monogram and his dam was Sunjoie Sabado Tarde.

Ch Woodland's Emerald Isle

"Kelly"

Kelly was my first home-bred champion. What a thrill!!  Sweet Kelly was first and foremost an ambassador of the breed.  She had a wonderful golden temperament and personality.

Kelly was also the best tennis ball catcher.  She could definitely catch them on the fly and would have made a great short-stop.

Kelly also was mother to my second home-bred champion, Patrick.

Kelly was sired by Ch Skips Vanreel Rockyrd Kazak and her dam was Donnor's Woodland Lady Katie, CD.

One of our last memories of Kelly was her win in the  10-12 year Veteran Class at the 2001 National Specialty.  Look at her move.  Sadly, we lost Kelly at 11 years of age but her beautiful golden spirit lives on in  her wonderful grandkids and greatgrandkids.

Am/Can Ch. Woodland's Fighting Irish, AX, AXJ

Patrick

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face.

And rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

---From Irish Blessings

Ch Woodland's Fighting Irish, AX, AXJ  "Patrick" finished his championship at 21 months.  He won 7 consecutive shows in tough Southern California competition.  At 2 years of age, he started agility training and within two months was competing.  Patrick  earned his Novice title in three consecutive shows and then proceeded to earn an open leg as a move up.

He was quick learner whose greatest handicap was "me."

He will be missed, but to his kids and grandkids, his beautiful golden spirit and energy live on.

Patrick was my third champion and second homebred champion...His dam was Ch Woodland's Emerald Isle and his sire, Ch Sassafras Batterys Not Incld.

Woodland's Funny Girl

Brice was a truly special girl....and her absence has left a large void.  She always had a smile with dipples, too.

Her wonderful Golden temperament has found its way to her children and their offspring.

Brice was mother to Ch. Woodland 'n Broxden Two Thumbs Up "Jay," Am/Can Ch. Woodland's Woofin on the Ritz "Fred" and Woodland Sunjoie Uptown Girl, NA, NAJ "Dixie."

Am CH. Woodland 'n Broxden Two Thumbs Up, NA, NAJ

Jay typified that beautiful golden personality.   He is very much missed but leaving behind kids and grandkids who possess his beautiful spirit.

He loved his agility but also loved the judge and ring stewards....
